Westminster Abbey
London's Westminster Abbey is the venue for coronations and other events of supreme national importance. It is also an architectural feast, with fine examples of medieval and renaissance styles ranging from the 13th-century nave and cloisters to the 18th-century West Front Towers. The architectural highlight is the vaulted Henry VII Chapel, completed in 1512. There are tombs of monarchs, statesmen, and heroes, and memorials to literary figures in Poets' Corner. Children as well as adults can take rubbings from reproductions of medieval brasses in the Brass Rubbing Centre in the cloisters.
